YRC report

YRC was a huge success. Apparently HKCCC have not had a conference like this for a couple of years. Well, there were 500 students there. I even met Bianco, who is a high scool student from Pakuranga. Yes – Pakuranga, Auckland! I first met him last year when he was at a youth camp I spoke at, and he had come back to Hong Kong during the summer holidays and his mother had signed him up for YRC. On the day of outreach, which was at Sham Shui Po, a poorer area where there are lots of new immigrants from Mainland China, 400 people prayed to receive Christ. It was a real experience in the day of outreach. We set up tents in a local park and ran a sort of fairground. Many people came to have their photos taken with the baby goats at the stall I was at. Getting up close and personal with farm animals is not so common in Hong Kong. Also, on the last evening 23 students committed themselves to full-time Christian service. I learnt a lot from the conference and really enjoyed being a part of the staff team serving there.
