CM2007

Just a week to go before I fly to Busan, Korea for CM2007.  Hong Kong has 300 students attending, which makes it the fourth largest representation there (after Korea, USA, and India). After the conference there are several mission trip opportunities for the students to urban areas in Korea, as well as in several other countries such as India, Mexico, and France.

I am also looking forward to catching up with some people I haven’t seen in a while. There is a small NZ contingent coming (NZ is a bit further away and the timing isn’t the best – it clashes with NZ’s annual student conference), and there are several other staff who I have met from different countries who will be good to see again.

Mostly, I am privileged to be a part of seeing 20,000 students gather around the world for the purpose of seeing the Great Commission fulfilled. In the late 1800s at a student conference 100 students committed their lives to world missions. Two of these students went on to form the Student Volunteer Movement, out of which more than 50,000 foreign missionaries were sent. It would be amazing if we could have an impact like that today.
